Flying with lights on – Mattel DeLorean
Although the blue LEDs would have been desirable (I dont have any), this video shows a magnetically levitating Mattel DeLorean, with wireless electric power supplied to the onboard lights. 8 LEDs are fitted to the car and a magnet placed in the cabin area. (my other lit up DeLorean had too many dashboard lights and other gubbins to fit a magnet inside). The Slayer Exciter is running from the same power supply as the levitating circuit, 5V, to an MPS2222A. Resistor is 10K. Note – because the axles would be too short when the wheels were made horizontal, wire insulation has been used to extend them. One of the pieces says 600V, a happy random find and just had to go on the car ! The wheels themselves are somewhat posable, rotating a few degrees fore and aft. The car is bobbling about, because thats how it began a minute or so previously, when being placed by hand. It will sit still with more care. The tower didnt have to be exactly under the car, but it works for the demo. The car being higher than the top of a tower, enables range similar to any other AV plug LED configuration
